profile: Justin Flom
Currently starring in and producing the SyFy show Wizard Wars, Justin Flom is making magic all over the world. From appearances on The TODAY Show, The Ellen Degeneres show to touring Australia with the first magic supergroup, Band Of Magicians, Justin's career is rising fast. Justin shares his magic via video with tens of millions on his YouTube channel and live through his Magic Block Parties. He truly is MAKING MAGIC AND SHARING JOY!
Most of Flom's time is spent making videos performing magic around the United States. His wife, Jocelynn Flom, films all the videos while Justin personally edits the footage.
In 2005 Justin skipped college and instead took his show to The Branson Mall Music Theatre in Branson, Missouri where he was the youngest headliner on the strip. After one year, he decided to build a custom-designed theater above the Majestic Steak House. July 1, 2006 Justin opened The Imaginary Theatre and Magic Parlor, a three room magical experience that culminated in an intimate 108-seat theater stage show.
Considering Branson, MO to be an expensive learning experience, Justin reinvented himself in 2011 when fellow magician, Rick Lax, suggested he make more magic videos online. Justin sold his large magic boxes an instead started working on new effects with coffee, coke, Lifesavers and Nerds.
In 2014, James Galea formed the Band of Magicians with Justin Flom, Justin Willman, and Nate Staniforth. They are not some mystical collective but instead a bunch of ordinary dudes who dabble in the extraordinary. Justin Flom takes charge and is the “heart throb” of the group who who often wears the kind of satisfied half-smile of the only person in the room who knows what’s going on. Justin does new-school card tricks and even a trick with everyone’s phone and Instagram. The audience loved the magic during the Band of Magicians run, standing ovations and packed houses were proof.
In 2014, Syfy Television network filmed a new show, Wizard Wars, starring Justin Flom along with Penn and Teller and several other magicians competing to create magic out of ordinary objects on the spot. Justin is also an associate producer of Wizard Wars and the show is based off an idea of Rick Lax's from Justin's YouTube channel. Justin is lead Wizard on the series.
2015 promises to be an incredible year with new episodes of Wizard Wars on SyFy, appearances on shows like CBS' The Late Late Show and creating magic for hundreds of thousands of new fans while appearing in 50 plus tour dates with Country Super Group, Florida Georgia Line and their nationwide Anything Goes Tour.
